Zachary Ong

ZacZachary Ong (Malaysia) graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Design from Curtin University of Technology, Australia. In 2009, he co-founded Make Condition Design, a design think tank committed to the transformation of the design industry to impact Malaysia’s GDP. He advises and collaborates with government agencies to chart and spearhead the national design directive. At Make Condition Design, he co-created multiple design conferences and workshops to empower design students, businesses and professionals with new and cutting edge domains of design knowledge. He was instrumental in assembling the first coalition of all design related associations united under the Malaysia Design Council with the purpose to create a new future for the design industry of Malaysia. This encompasses the major design fields in Malaysia namely architecture, interior design, graphic design, industrial design, fashion design, advertising and invention design. For his work, he was nominated for the prestigious 7 Bintang Lifetime Achievement Award at Kuala Lumpur Design Week 2011 in recognition for individuals who are a contribution to the creative industry of Malaysia. He was the Project Manager for Rediscovery: Icograda Design Week in Sarawak 2012 and is currently the President of wREGA, the Graphic Design Association of Malaysia. He was recently awarded by Prestige magazine in the Top 40 Movers and Shakers in Malaysia Under 40.
